I’m baaaack! I’m going to try my hand at a more casual approach to blogging - more life updates/photos, fewer recipes, same amount of crazy stories of my adventures. I hope you’ll stick around!
Mike’s parents came to visit this past weekend, and we took a day trip up to Rockport and Gloucester. We hit up Halibut Point State Park, ate lobster rolls by the ocean, and just be-bopped around. It was a beautiful day!
So glad to see a post from you in my inbox! Glad you’re back, but definitely blog when you feel like it. I think I speak for everyone when I say we’d much rather see a post from you here and there rather than not at all.
Beautiful pics btw!
This approach suits you, because your photos are always the best!!
Glad you’re back! Lovely shots :)
I check your blog almost everyday and I’m so happy to see you’re back :)
I absolutely love these photo-type blogs you post, because your photos are amazing!
I’m moving to Boston soon and your photos just get me all thrilled haha :D
I was wondering if you could make a “Boston Top 5″ sorta post where you write down your top 5 restaurants and so, because it’s always nice to get a more personal perspective instead of all those tourist-y websites with huge lists and whatnot!
Thank you and I can’t wait to see more blogs <3
Thank you!!
Funny you should ask about the “Top 5″ thing, because I was totally thinking about doing a top-five favorite bakeries post, at the very least. I’ll have to get on that..;)
I have a million and one things to say about this post. Here goes…
First off, just YES to your new approach to blogging. I know that’s it’s going to be just as wonderful as ever.
Next, these pictures are CRAZY GOOD. LIKE, WHOA GIRL GIVE ME SOME PHOTOG LESSONS. (for serious.)
Now… About Gloucester/Rockport:
Zan’s family had a big reunion at halibut point way back in the day and there are pictures from it that I always look at. Someone might have been married there in his fam, too, but I’ll have to check on that. Every year we go for a picnic on the rocks and IT IS GLORIOUS. I’m so glad you went. What a place.
Zan’s family also has been going to Good Harbor Beach (Gloucester) and then to Rockport after to get ice cream and walk Bearskin Neck for as long as he can remember. That’s where he dives for lobsters!!! Ever since we’ve been dating it’s become my summer tradition, too. Love that place more than words. All of it. Everything.
You captured it PERFECTLY.
{next time be sure to hit up Molly’s Ice Cream! Their peanut butter ice cream is TO DIE FOR.}
I LOVE this comment!
Okay, so….
FIRST..thanks for the compliments, girlfriend! Makes me feel so happy and full of sunshine :)
Secondly, Halibut Point is pure beauty!! There was a bride and groom getting their photos taken while we were there and the two (2!) photographers were scurrying around the rocks and trees and I can only imagine how wonderful the photos are going to come out!!
Third, Good Harbor beach is my jam! I went there with the kids I nannied (nannyed? nanny-ed?) for all the time a few summers back. I love that Zan dives there! And your post about Zan the lobsterman continues to be one of my all-time faves.
Finally - PEANUT BUTTER ICE CREAM!?! I got overwhelmed with all the ice cream shops while we were there, but now I know where to go! Yes please!
I’m really glad your continuing to write for all of us to enjoy.
the photos of the water are so pretty! this reminds me that i must eat a lobster roll this weekend…
The shots of the rocks by the water - is that the same place that Dad sprained his ankle while you were all cavorting in rain 2 years ago?
I love rockport so much - and it photographs so well! I haven’t spent much time Gloucester yet, though.
oh, and just a fun little thing - my husband and I had some post-wedding photos taken in rockport: http://tagabonds.blogspot.com/p/trash-dress.html
I love your recipes and food pics, but I also love your sense of humor. So glad you’re back!
